Instagram on the web doesn't have a download button for videos. You can save them to a collection, but only inside Instagram. If you need the file on your computer, to edit it, archive it or watch it offline, Velotu downloads it in seconds from your browser.
Step by step
- Open instagram.com and go to the reel or video. Once it's open, the URL changes to something like instagram.com/reel/… or instagram.com/p/…
- Copy that URL from your browser's address bar.
- Open velotu.com/en/instagram in another tab.
- Paste the link and click Download.
- Pick a quality. If the highest one says it will be converted, you can choose between Compatible MP4 (takes a bit longer) and Fast original.

Which quality is right for me?
- Compatible MP4 (H.264): plays on Windows, Mac and in any editor. Choose this one if you're going to edit the video.
- Fast original: downloads in seconds; plays fine in your browser and in VLC.
- Lower qualities: smaller files if you just want to keep a copy.
What about photos?
If the post is a photo or a carousel, use the Photos tab. It downloads each image in its original resolution. We explain how in how to download all photos from a carousel.
What you can't download
- Posts from private accounts.
- Stories: they aren't available in Velotu for now.
Tip: If you plan to use someone else's reel for work or on your own accounts, ask for permission and credit the creator.
