To download a video with Velotu you need its link, the web address that goes straight to that post. Every social network tucks it away in a slightly different spot. Here's exactly where to find it on each one, both in the app and on a computer.
TikTok
- App: tap Share (the arrow on the right side of the video) and then Copy link.
- Computer: open the video and copy the URL from your browser, or use the Share button → Copy link.
Then paste it into velotu.com/en/tiktok.
- App: tap the paper airplane below the reel or post and choose Copy link. It's also in the three-dot menu.
- Computer: open the post and copy the URL (it should start with instagram.com/p/ or instagram.com/reel/).
For videos use velotu.com/en/instagram, and for photos velotu.com/en/instagram/photos.
- App: tap Share below the video or reel and choose Copy link.
- Computer: click the post's date to open it on its own page and copy the URL, or use Share → Copy link.
Paste it into velotu.com/en/facebook.
X (Twitter)
- App: tap the Share icon (arrow pointing up) on the post and choose Copy link.
- Computer: click the post's timestamp to open it and copy the URL (x.com/username/status/…).
Paste it into velotu.com/en/x.
Common mistakes when copying the link
- Copying the profile link instead of the post link: the link has to point to a specific video.
- Copying extra text: some apps copy the link with a phrase in front of it ("Check out this video…"). Velotu only needs the address that starts with https://.
- Pasting into the wrong section: if you paste a TikTok link into the Facebook section, Velotu lets you know and takes you to the right one.
What working links look like
- TikTok: tiktok.com/@username/video/…, vm.tiktok.com/… or vt.tiktok.com/…
- Instagram: instagram.com/reel/… or instagram.com/p/…
- Facebook: facebook.com/reel/…, facebook.com/…/videos/… or fb.watch/…
- X: x.com/username/status/… or twitter.com/username/status/…
If Velotu says the link isn't valid
- Check that the link starts with https:// and has no spaces or text in front of it.
- Make sure it's a public post: links to private content don't work.
- Try copying it again from the Share button; sometimes the clipboard still holds an older link.
Tip: On your phone, tap and hold Velotu's text box and tap "Paste". On a computer, use Ctrl + V (or Cmd + V on a Mac).
