Copying a link, opening your browser and pasting it works, but there's a faster way. Velotu can be installed as an app on your phone without going through an app store, and on Android it shows up right in the Share menu of TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Install Velotu on Android
- Open velotu.com in Chrome.
- Tap the ⋮ menu (top right) and choose Install app or Add to Home screen. You can also tap the install button at the bottom of the page.
- Confirm. The owl icon will appear on your home screen.
Download from the Share button (Android)
- In TikTok, Instagram, Facebook or X, open the video and tap Share.
- Swipe through the options and tap Velotu. If it's not there, look under "More" or "Other apps".
- Velotu opens with the video ready to go. Pick a quality and download.
No more copying and pasting: the link comes through on its own.
Install Velotu on iPhone
- Open velotu.com in Safari.
- Tap the Share button (the square with an arrow pointing up).
- Choose Add to Home Screen and confirm.
On iPhone, Velotu works as an app with its own icon, but iOS doesn't let it appear in other apps' Share menu. There you'll still copy the link and paste it.

On Android, if you tap and hold the Velotu icon, you'll see shortcuts to each social network that open its section instantly.
Frequently asked questions
- Does it take up a lot of space? No. It's the same website with its own icon, so it uses almost no storage.
- Do I need the Play Store? No. It installs straight from your browser.
- How do I uninstall it? Like any other app: tap and hold the icon and choose Uninstall or Remove.
