X (formerly Twitter) doesn't have a button to save videos to your iPhone. The good news is you don't need apps or complicated shortcuts: with Safari and Velotu you can download the video and move it to Photos in under a minute.
1. Copy the post link
- In the X app, open the post with the video.
- Tap the Share icon (the arrow pointing up).
- Choose Copy link.
2. Download it with Safari
- Open Safari and go to velotu.com/en/x.
- Tap and hold the box, tap Paste and then Download.
- Pick a quality. For a long video, 720p takes up less space.
- Confirm the download. You'll see a blue arrow in Safari's address bar.

3. Move it to Photos
- Tap the blue arrow in Safari or open the Files app → Downloads.
- Open the video and tap Share.
- Choose Save Video. It's now in your Photos library.
If something doesn't work
- "Save Video" doesn't appear: wait for the download to finish; an incomplete file can't be saved.
- The post has several videos: the first one is downloaded. Open the video you want and copy its link.
- The account is private: those videos can't be downloaded.
Tip: The steps for moving a video to Photos are the same for TikTok, Instagram or Facebook. See also our TikTok on iPhone guide.
