At Velotu (velotu.com) we respect your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect when you use the site, what we use it for and what choices you have. Velotu does not require you to create an account or give us your name, email or phone number to download.
1. Information we collect
When you use the downloader, we automatically record:
- Your IP address and technical information about your browser (browser type and operating system).
- The link you paste, the social network it belongs to, the quality you choose and, if one occurs, the error message.
- The date and time of each search, download or ad view on the site.
We do not collect data from your social media accounts: we never ask for your username or password.
2. How we use the information
- To provide the service: fetch the video or photos from the link you pasted and deliver the file to you.
- For internal statistics: knowing how many searches and downloads there are, which networks work and which errors occur.
- To protect the service: apply usage limits and block IP addresses involved in abusive or automated use.
We do not sell your personal information.
3. How long we keep it
- Activity log (IP, link, network, quality and date): automatically deleted after 90 days.
- Video and photo files: Velotu does not keep a copy of what you download. When a video needs to be prepared on our server (for example, to merge audio and video or convert it), the temporary file is deleted when your download finishes or, at the latest, within 60 minutes.
- Data about the video you looked up (title, available qualities): stored temporarily for 60 minutes so you can choose a quality and download.
- IP blocks: kept for as long as the block is in effect.
4. Social media content
To get a video or photo, our server requests the post from the corresponding social network (X, Facebook, Instagram and TikTok) using the link you pasted. That network may log the request under its own privacy policy. Velotu can only access public posts.
5. Cookies and advertising
Velotu does not use its own tracking cookies. The only cookie we set remembers the language you chose for the site. We show ads to keep the service free, and our advertising and measurement partners may use cookies, device identifiers and similar technologies to show ads, measure their performance and, if you allow it, personalize them.
Our ads are managed by Ezoic and its advertising partners. If you visit the site from a place where the law requires it, you will see a consent notice (Gatekeeper) where you can accept or reject advertising cookies. Information about Ezoic and its partners follows:
You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings and turn off Google personalized advertising at adssettings.google.com.
6. Children
Velotu is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has provided us with information, write to us at contacto@velotu.com.
7. Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct, delete or stop processing your data (known as ARCO rights under Mexican law), as well as any other rights granted by the law of your country. Since we don't ask for identifying data, to locate your information we will need the IP address you used the service from and the approximate date. Write to us at contacto@velotu.com.
8. Security
We use an encrypted connection (HTTPS) across the whole site and limit access to the logs to the service administrators. No system is completely foolproof, but we take reasonable measures to protect the information.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the way the site works changes. The date of the last update appears at the top of this page.
